KEMP Banks on Lloyds to Get Sorted

Staff from Lloyds Bank in Kidderminster chose to spend their 'Day to Make a Difference' helping out at KEMP Hospice's Donation Centre in Lisle Avenue. KEMP Donations Centre Manager, Lilian Griffiths, said: “This is a very busy time of year for KEMP and the donations team, as over Easter many people take the opportunity to have a clear out and this year thanks to our very generous donors we have a mega-mountain of donated items. “We were really struggling to get through the back log, but then the Lloyds team stepped in to help and oh my, we really did and do, appreciate all their hard work!” Several other local organisations are now helping KEMP’s donations team including staff from Midcounties Cooperative as well as Vision Labs. All KEMP Hospice services are provided free of charge and delivered by a skilled clinical team. Needing to raise over £940,000 annually to continue to provide specialist services, the majority of KEMP’s income comes from voluntary donations and the wonderful support of the local community. KEMP’s Head of Retail, Lynne Jones, added: “The heart of KEMP’s retail operation is at Lisle Avenue where donations are sorted prior to being sent out to our shops around the local area. We are extremely grateful to Lloyds’ staff for all their help and support getting us through this busy period.' Lloyds Bank Persoanl Banking Advisor, Harriet Matthieson-Nock, said: “It's fair to say everybody loved it and we all remarked on what a wonderful team of volunteers KEMP has.” If your organisation would like to find out more about volunteering for KEMP at Lisle Avenue, please contact Lynne Jones on 01562 228494 or email lynne.jones@kemphospice.org.uk.
