KEMP Hospice Vintage Sale Huge Success
KEMP’s 1940’s ‘vintage sale’ at the Severn Valley Railway in Bewdley was a rip-roaring success, and in only their third year of holding this now annual fundraising event, they have raised a whopping £5,500 for the work of the hospice.
Lynne Jones, KEMP retail manager said: “This year’s vintage event at The Severn Valley Railway in Bewdley astounded us both in terms of the amount of visitors and the £5,500 we managed to raise over the 2 weekends.
“Please can I thank on behalf of KEMP all our donors, customers and volunteers for making our vintage sale such a huge success.”
Selling all things and anything 40's from clothing and hats to uniforms, jewellery, memorabilia and household goods, if it's authentic, KEMP Retail can sell it. Processing over 5 tonnes of stock at their Lisle Avenue warehouse each week, KEMP Retail works extremely hard to find the best way possible to maximise income from donations, and started 20 years ago this year, in the next 12 months they plan to reach a gifting milestone of over £1,000,000 for the Hospice, events such as the ‘vintage sale’ plays a significant part in funding the work of the charity, which continues to provide vital specialist care and support to patients, families and carers dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement.
“We plan to set up a vintage section on eBay, which is a totally new venture for us and a great way of achieving the best possible price for the wonderful items people donate to us.” said Lynne. “The sun may have set on this year’s 40’s vintage sale, but donations are already being sought for next year as we almost sell-out so need to start replenishing and restocking immediately to ensure we’re ready for next year!”
