KEMP Spennells Shop Shines!

In a recent competition, whereby each of KEMP’s six retail shops vied for the coveted accolade of ‘Top Shop’, their volunteer-led Spennells shop came out on top to win 1st place. Head of Retail for KEMP Lynne Jones, explained: “In order to continue to improve our customer service and shop standards, our retail managers each reviewed each other’s shops scoring things such as window displays, good use of retail space and overall shopper appeal. “KEMP’s Spennells store was selected overall winner, securing 1st place, which is a real credit to the whole team, as it is also predominately operated with a team of volunteers. We were delighted for them that their enthusiasm, team spirit and the pride they have in their shop was reflected in this result; it's a little gem of a shop and a definite must visit!” KEMP Hospice needs to raise £940,000 annually, with the majority of funding coming from voluntary donations and the support of the local community, and the money raised through KEMP’s local network of retail shops located in Stourport, Bewdley and Spennells, Oxford Street, Coventry Street and Lisle Avenue in Kidderminster. Supporting local people, the service provided by KEMP is delivered by a skilled clinical team and free of charge. KEMP’s Volunteer Team Leader Celia Evans, commented: “When people take the time to come and find us, they are always amazed by our Spennells shop. We’re tucked away slightly, just behind Tesco on the Spennells estate, but once found our shoppers just keep coming back time and time again.” As for winning the award, Celia said: “We were thrilled to come out as 'Top Shop' as everyone works really hard. We all want to make as much money as possible to support our hospice, KEMP.'
