KEMP’s Birthday Celebrations at Lisle Avenue
KEMP Retail is inviting local people to help them celebrate 3-years at their Lisle Avenue retail 'Hub' on Saturday 20th June.
Head of Retail at KEMP, Lynne Jones, said: “Three years ago we were very lucky to find our current location at Lisle Avenue when our original donations centre was redeveloped, and just as we were moving in to Lisle Avenue, the unit next door became available, so we grabbed it with both hands and opened our current furniture store right next door, which continues to prove very popular.”
KEMP Retail helps support the work of KEMP Hospice in Mason Road, which delivers specialist care and support to families and carers in the Wyre Forest and surrounding areas who are dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement. KEMP needs to raise more than £940,000 a year to ensure they can continue to provide these services free of charge.
KEMP Furniture Store manager, Rachel Newey, commented: “We want more local people to know where we are as when they do they're absolutely amazed by the wide range of furniture and homewares available. Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful donors, the quality is always fabulous and to celebrate we are offering a 20% reduction on all purchases made at our birthday celebrations on the 20th.”
KEMP’s Donations Centre manager, Lilian Griffiths, added: “We process 75% of all stock sold in our shops as well as organise a whole range of outside events, such as the upcoming 40's themed event at the Severn Valley Railway in Bewdley at the end of June. People are really surprised when they see the size of KEMP’s retail operation, so as well as offering tea and cake between 2pm and 4pm, we will also be giving a short tour behind the scenes in our donations centre. It will be a great opportunity to have a look round and meet some of the team and if anyone is interested in joining our volunteer team, just ask any one of our volunteers!”
KEMP can arrange free collection of unwanted saleable furniture and anyone wanting to find out more about volunteering for KEMP, please contact Nina Price, Volunteer Coordinator on 01562 756000.
Generous donations made by local businesses and the community, ensures KEMP retail shops hold a stunning selection of goods on offer, and at fantastic prices. KEMP Retail could not continue to operate without the wonderful generosity of their donors and their volunteer teams.
