Kidderminster School Joins National Big School Swim 2019
Holy Trinity School in Kidderminster has signed up to take part in Swim England’s The Big School Swim 2019 (11-15 November).
Designed to celebrate swimming in primary schools as part of PE lessons, the aim is that all children will have fun whilst learning to swim, an important life skill and one that will help them stay safe around water. During the week it is estimated that almost 70,000 pupils nationally will enjoy an extra-super school swimming lesson.
Teacher, Mrs Paula Crocker, commented: “We’re excited and delighted to be taking part in Swim England's The Big School Swim. We’ll be holding special themed PE and swimming lessons celebrating Swim England’s 150 years of swimming and the children will each be given engaging activity booklets, in addition to taking part in lots of fun and exciting floating shapes and numbers games in the pool.”
Throughout the week swimming will be celebrated at assemblies and during PE lessons, with all children participating receiving certificates.
Headteacher Mrs Pamela Leek-Wright added: “I am absolutely delighted that the school is participating in this event, anything that will help to raise the profile of this life skill is invaluable as all children should learn how to swim and be taught about water safety.”
