Kidderminster Students Enjoy Roald Dahl Dahlicious Dress Up Day
Primary school pupils from Holy Trinity School in Kidderminster enjoyed dressing up and celebrating Roald Dahl's "Dahlicious Dress Up Day".
Pupils participated in a host of Roald Dahl themed activities in classrooms and were entertained by a Puffin Virtually Live online show and at lunchtime the children were treated to a Roald Dahl inspired menu which included "snozzcumbers" and Bruce Bogtrotter's "scrumdiddlyumptious" chocolate cake amongst many other dishes and all part of their special day.
Holy Trinity School Teacher-Librarian, Miss Katherine Slack, said: “I would like to thank all our families for making and purchasing some "fantabulous" costumes for the children to wear, as well as a big thank you to our Chef, Simon Quill and his team of Miquill Catering for such a Dahlicious menu.”
During the day a number of competitions were organised, including a blurred book cover quiz: prizes were awarded for the best costumes in each class; Reception and Year 1 pupils produced "phizz-whizzing" (brilliant) paper dolls and Years 2 to 6 pupils created "whoopsy-splunkers" (fantastic) Roald Dahl games.
Katie McMurray, in Year 5, whose 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' version of Monopoly won first prize of a Golden Ticket to The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, with huge congratulations to all pupils, and their families, who should be commended for their "whoopsy-wiffling" (great) efforts - well done!
