Kidderminster Students Line the Streets in Honour of Much-Loved Teacher
A moving tribute was made by students at a Kidderminster school as they lined the streets for the much-loved speech and drama teacher's funeral on Thursday 24th September.
Students from Holy Trinity School and Sixth Form Centre formed a guard of honour for the funeral procession of speach and drama teacher Anna Brown, lining the route between the Birmingham Road school, Radford Avenue and the church.
For over four decades Anna taught numerous students at the school, and years later would also teach their children and their grandchildren, with her ballet teaching helping many pupils progress on to the Royal School of Ballet in London.
The family service included representatives from Holy Trinity, with the Headteacher Mrs Pamela Leek-Wright providing words of reflection on Anna’s life.
Commenting on Anna, Mrs Leek-Wright said: “Anyone who knew Anna would agree that she was a remarkable lady who was truly committed to her teaching and nothing brought her more joy than instilling that love and passion in others.”
Anna was known for her bright eyes, infectious smile, and her dedication and endless enthusiasm and passion for her students, many of whom enjoyed theatrical and academic success thanks to her teaching.
Anna’s Cousin Sarah Peters commented: “Anna brought joy and happiness to all she met and taught in her lifetime. She was an incredible lady with a phenomenal reputation and we as a family will miss her dearly.”
Ann Brown, fondly known as “Anna” to all she knew, passed away very peacefully on 8th September 2020 at Brook Court Care Home, Kidderminster at the age of 86 years.
Following the church service, Anna was laid to rest in a private burial in St Georges’ churchyard, joining her parents in the family grave.
