Kidderminster's Little Trinity Nursery Enjoying Ballet Fun!

Children at Little Trinity Nursery in Kidderminster are delighted to once again be pliéing, pirouetting and simply having lots of ballet fun after a nursery year impacted by covid restrictions.

Manager, Gaynor Carter, explained: “Taking part in ballet lessons helps with their balance and coordination and uses their gross motor skills as they dance and move around to the music, with the sessions lots of fun and very interactive, and a vital part of their overall physical development.

"They began ballet last September but after only 6-weeks Covid restrictions stopped their weekly sessions but thankfully we are now back up and running again with the children fully back into their ballet swing.”

The aspiring ballet troupe has grown to 20 children every week and lessons held in class bubbles to ensure current guidelines are maintained. Just one of several extracurricular activities the nursery offers, weekly football is also available and delivered by Kidderminster Harriers Community Football Club, with their lively sessions offering the children an opportunity to show off their new skills as the boys and girls learn basic football skills and how to work together as a team.

Added Gaynor: “They love their ballet, so to be able to run sessions again is simply amazing and running alongside our other physical curriculum activities the children enjoy weekly on-site swimming and PE sessions, and we ensure that every day, together with their regular outside playtime, they remain active, healthy and are establishing the building blocks for a healthy lifestyle as they grow and develop.”
