Local Driving Talent Delighted to Retain Thompson & Parkes Sponsorship

Stock car driver Ollie Holford is delighted to have retained his sponsorship deal from local building suppliers Thompson & Parkes after what was a difficult year for everyone due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Said Ollie: “To have the backing of a local family run company is fantastic, having the sponsorship of a company which is all about helping the local community with their countless projects is a privilege as Covid has been hard for everyone and Thompson & Parkes have stuck with us through it all, when many other companies wouldn’t have, so we are really excited to be going into our third racing year with their backing.”

The pandemic disrupted the 2020 season, starting late and finishing early, with Ollie experiencing a mixed season he managed to retain many positives and gained experience, switching focus instead and getting his new car ready for the 2021 season with a RCE chassis, and undertaking a complete car rebuild.

As a long-established local company Thompson & Parkes is always keen to invest in and support the community, helping several local schools and nurseries with a mix of educational projects.

Thompson & Parkes Manager, Gary Watts, said: “We’re delighted to continue our support and investment in such great local talent as Ollie.”

The constraints of the pandemic made the rebuild much harder due to travel restrictions, but Ollie has managed to get his car ready in time for the new season which begins for him on Sunday 23rd May at Grimley Raceway.

Added Ollie: “We have lots of learning to do with the new car, but the team is excited with the potential it brings. With the involvement of Thompson & Parkes so much more is possible.”
