Local Firm Whittle Offers KEMP Hospice Day Trips
Local coach firm, Whittle Coach and Bus, has generously extended a kind offer of help to local charity KEMP Hospice, offering Wyre Forest patients and their families’ day trips to help improve their quality of life during difficult times.
General Manager of Whittle Coach and Bus Ltd, David Shipp, said: “Whittles are delighted to be able to support KEMP Hospice by making available, at no cost, access to empty seats on our day trips. I know from personal experience what a valuable service hospices, their staff and volunteers provide to ensure that patients are able to continue enjoying life as much as possible, as well as allowing the opportunity for their carers to get some well-earned rest during such a difficult time.
“After speaking with KEMP we felt that rather than making a monetary contribution we were in a position to give something a little different by offering patients, or carers, a lovely day out on a choice of our excursions that haven’t quite sold out and that would otherwise be operating with some empty seats.”
KEMP Hospice adult and child services are all provided free of charge, offering specialist care and support to patients, families and carers who are dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement, with the aim of maintaining their independence or supporting them to adapt to changing abilities so that they can live their lives to the full, for as long as possible.
Head of Care at KEMP Hospice, Sue Harrison, said: “We are very grateful for this kind offer from Whittles as it will enable bereaved families to enjoy a special day out.
“With support from our Hospice at Home team, who will look after the patient, tired and strained carers will be able to enjoy a coach trip, giving them the much needed opportunity to take a few hours respite to relax and enjoy a change of scene.”
