Nursery Celebrates Random Acts of Kindness Day

Little Trinity Nursery in Kidderminster is celebrating this year’s Random Acts of Kindness Day, Monday 17th February, with a whole week of special ‘kind’ activities.

Over the course of the week all 94 children at the nursery will participate, learning more about why it’s important to be kind to the earth, as well as being kind to the people, animals and insects which depend on it, with the nursery also supporting local charities by donating produce to Kidderminster food bank and collecting unused toys, books and clothing and donate recycled items to a local charity which supports families in need. They will also clear litter, make bird feeders and have created their very own ant and worm farms.

Nursery Manager, Gaynor Carter explained: “We wanted to involve all the children in this year’s Random Acts of Kindness Day, so together with staff the children will undertake lots of activities including a litter pick to clean up our local environment and they’ve made bird feeders to help our local wildlife and drew pictures of kind bears.

“We’re also encouraging them to applaud when they see any act of random kindness.”

The National Random Acts of Kindness Day has grown in popularity year on year and is celebrated by individuals, groups, schools and organizations nationwide to encourage more people to take part in acts of kindness. Now a popular day with children and adults everywhere.

Gaynor added: “We’ve also started our very own eco-friendly wormery and ant farm so that we can recycle the nurseries kitchen waste and paper scraps.

“Although celebrated on just one day of the year, the children are encouraged to be kind and to help others as part of everyday life. If we all did just a little bit, then together we can make a big difference!”
