Nursery Supports Kidderminster Library Christmas Card Appeal

Children at Kidderminster’s Little Trinity Nursery are busy making Christmas cards in support of Kidderminster Library’s Christmas Card Appeal. Each year the nursery children take part and create truly unique Christmas cards, which are then distributed by Kidderminster Library to the elderly and housebound in the local community at Christmastime, along with a selection of library books to read and enjoy throughout the festive season. Nursery Manager, Miss Gaynor Carter, said: “The children love to do anything creative and this seasonal activity enables them to use tinsel, paint, collage materials and of course glitter to make their very own, special, Christmas card.” Using a whole host of creative skills the children now have a number of reindeer and snowman Christmassy creations. Based within the grounds of Holy Trinity School on the Birmingham Road, Little Trinity Nursery provides pre-school childcare from the age of 2 years, with creative play at the heart of nursery activities which assists in the development of hand and eye co-ordination, literacy and numeracy skills, motor skills and aids communication development with others. Miss Carter added: “The annual Christmas Card Appeal is such as worthwhile cause, helping spread a little joy within the local community and with those people who may be on their own this Christmas. The activity also helps develop the children’s fine motor skills as each child is encouraged to write their name on the inside of the Christmas card.”
