Sunshine in the Spotlight at Kidderminster Nursery
As the warmer weather returns children at Little Trinity Nursery in Kidderminster have been learning all about staying safe in the sun as part of their Sun Awareness Week in the Green Caterpillar and Yellow Bumble Bee nursery rooms.
Little Trinity Nursery Manager, Miss Gaynor Carter, commented: “As the weather continues to improve with more and more sunny days and lots of outside play and fun activities to enjoy, it was an ideal opportunity to introduce the children to sun-safety.
“We discussed what they needed to play and stay safe in the sun wearing sunhats, sunglasses and applying sun cream to protect their skin. Even Peppa Pig in the Yellow Bumble Bee room was prepared too for her day in the sun, and yes sun cream was liberally applied!
Located on the Birmingham Road, the nursery, as part of the children’s daily Early Years personal, social and emotional development activities, encourage the children to investigate and question, and use their senses to assist with their understanding of their surroundings and of the world in which they live.
Miss Carter added: “Learning how to stay safe whilst having fun in the sun is an important lesson and we’re never too young, or too old, to learn. Sun cream applied the children made the most of their outside playtime with a spot of Cafe role-play spending snack-time outdoors under the shade of the parasols!”
