Tigers and Tea Celebrations for World Book Day

Using The Tiger who came to tea children’s story and the wonderful world of Disney for their inspiration children at Little Trinity Nursery in Kidderminster had a thoroughly enjoyable time celebrating World Book Day (WBD) on Thursday 2nd March.

Tiger portraits and making tea party invitations and counting tiger stripes, the children also made mermaid tails with playdough, counted 101 Dalmatians’ spots and sat down to a sumptuous Winnie the Pooh picnic.

Nursery manager Gaynor Carter said: “World Book Day provides an ideal opportunity for the children to explore books, storytelling and physical learning.”

In a busy craft room of princes and princesses crowns the children also enjoyed using maths and their knowledge of the numbers 1-15 as they added tiger stripes and matched the numbers to a dice.

Added Gaynor: “Imaginative play with our tea party and Winnie The Pooh picnic are ways we can encourage the children to explore language, develop their social skills and through the use of utensils support their fine motor skills development, but most of all, they can also have lots and lots of fun!”
