Volunteer for KEMP and Enjoy a Spot of Retail Therapy
Following KEMP’s successful relaunch of their Oxford Street retail shop, the team will be running a coffee morning kindly hosted by the Gatsby Emporium café opposite KEMP’s shop on Thursday 15th October.
Anyone from the local community interested in joining their expanding team is invited to go along and find out more.
KEMP Retail Shop Manager, Rita Willetts, said: “Due to increased demand we have changed our shop to provide more space to homewares and customers are loving the changes we’ve made, and so now we need even more volunteers than ever to help with our busy periods as we also run an extremely popular and successful Wedding and Special Occasion ladies wear section on our first floor, so there’s always lots going on!”
KEMP is now receiving less government funding to support services, even though demand continues to increase. The Hospice needs to raise £940,000 annually to continue this vital work supporting local people, with the majority funding raised through voluntary donations and the support of the local community. All KEMP’s services are provided free of charge and delivered by a skilled clinical team.
Head of KEMP Retail, Lynne Jones, commented: “We’d wanted to hold a coffee morning for local people interested in joining us, but with limited space within our shop it wasn’t really a viable option. Thanks to Tia Sharman, the owner of the recently opened Gatsby Emporium opposite our Oxford Street shop, who’s very generously offered the use her café we can now hold our coffee morning event, for which we are extremely grateful.”
If you’re considering getting involved in volunteering, then this is the perfect opportunity to meet Rita and some of her volunteer team members. You don't need previous retail or volunteering experience, just a willingness to give KEMP customers and its donors the very best service you can.
